Unique Customized Lamps Perfect Accent for Any Interior Motif

In a society where the majority of people purchase home furnishings in big box stores or large chains, where everything is mass-produced and looks exactly alike, it’s so refreshing to be able to find home accents that are actually original. Sometimes it can be a difficult hunt in order to find that one original piece that reflects you and your living space, but it’s always worth it in the end – you know that no one else will have the exact same accent piece, and that in itself is usually worth the time spent hunting.

In my search for originality, I was excited to have stumbled upon a company called Tin Tin’s. Tin Tin’s makes some of the most original and remarkable lamps that I’ve had a chance to find, and because they are made from materials that have been purchased from second-hand stores, no two lamps are going to be exactly alike.

My house has a country-feel to it, so I was looking for a few accents to reflect that same feel, and had no luck finding exactly what I wanted. That was when I managed to discover a lamp made by Tin Tin’s from a cowboy boot, with a bottle of Jack Daniel’s in the boot and a little “JD” branded on the piece of wood the boot has been mounted on. It perfectly reflected the frontier atmosphere that I wanted apparent in my home.

Now, it’s sitting on an end table in my den and is the perfect accent piece to finish the room off.

It’s also nice to know that if there’s ever a chance I have an idea for a lamp that I positively cannot find anywhere, I always have the option go to Tin Tin’s, and they can create a custom lamp for me.

Not only did Tin Tin’s lamps add a bit of the atmosphere I wanted to my home, but they also have worked as great conversational pieces. I can’t tell you how many times people have asked me about my cowboy boot lamps from Tin Tin’s. It was such a comfort to be able to actually find a lamp that reflected me and my home.

A lot can be told about a person by the type of artwork they enjoy; just so, a lot can be told about a room by the type of artwork in it. When looking for artwork for a room, you want something to go with themes and colour schemes are already going on in that room. You might decide that you’re looking for the centerpiece of the room, or you might just be looking for something subtle to complement what is already in that room.

Sculptures are great pieces to have, whether you’re looking for that centerpiece or that subtle supporting piece. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for something that will draw your attention as soon as you enter the room, or something that complements the rest of the room - Tin Tin’s is an ideal place to look for that one piece you need. Tin Tin’s makes art that also has a purpose – each of their sculptures also functions as completely working lamps.

You can tell with each lamp that a lot of care has been put into it. The artistry is amazing. It’s obvious that Maris Jansons, the man behind Tin Tin’s, has taken the time and effort to make every lamp look as realistic as possible. One of his customized lamps comprises of a case of beer bottles sitting in an ice bucket- he is able to create artificial ice from a plastic material that is broken apart in a way that it looks like real ice chips. Another one of his lamps, a plaster soccer ball, is made from a mold of an actual soccer ball to create a look of authenticity.

Whether it is one of his ready-made lamps, or one of his customized ones, there is always a real sense or artistry with his work.

What I love most about Tin Tin’s lamps is that Maris can actually create a piece of artwork that completely evokes a certain sense of atmosphere and emotion – in the case of the lamps made from musical instruments, you can almost see yourself in a smoky 20’s jazz club, whereas the lamps featuring fishermen bring thoughts of the ocean and sea chanteys to mind, with the smell of fish almost tangible.

Not only can they evoke atmosphere and emotion, but a lot of the pieces have a vintage feel to them. The themes that are carried through the pieces are very reminiscent of the past; the lamps are usually made from second-hand merchandise (a lot of it is bought through Good Will), and every part of each lamp carries some sort of history with it.

These pieces of contemporary art are not only beautiful works of art, but are also fully functional as lamps. As such, they are the perfect accent for any home or business setting.
